World Scout Jamboree 2015

Hōryuji Temple

Written by Adam Blakey

Straight after the welcoming ceremony, we travelled to Hōryuji, which contains the oldest wooden structure in the world. We arrived just before closing so we didn’t look in all of the buildings.

One of the interesting things shown (in statue form) in one of the buildings is that Buddhists believe everyone has a good side and a bad side; the statue showed one of Buddha’s body guards trampling on his ‘bad side’.
