Today we went on our first outing on the bus of the holiday!
We went to the town of Brienz and up the Brienz Rothorn, an hour long steam train journey to a summit at approx. 2350m, which has been in use since it was built in 1891.
After entertaining some tourists on the train who were (un)lucky enough to be on our carriage, we arrived at the summit and added a few more layers due to the drop in temperature.
We took some photos and saw as many of the 693 peaks as we could through some of the clouds.
After chugging our way back down the mountain, we then had an hour to explore the local shops of Brienz, find some ice cream and sunbathe before we left to head back to the chalet!
