Switzerland Day 4 – The Pool and the Cheese Farm

Written by Graham Oakes

After receiving eagerly anticipated exam results first thing in the morning the highly competitive Adelboden Cup began. The Adelboden Cup being Whitley Bay Explorer Scouts first table tennis tournament.

A match in the Adelboden Cup.

After several fixtures were played and the scores recorded the Explorers headed into Adelboden for a day at the pool in the glorious sunshine.

Whilst the Explorers were relaxing in the village below the leaders decided to go on an epic trek to the high alpine Cheese Farm overlooking the town below. After a well earned rest drinking milkshakes and sampling local swiss cheese, we left with our bags packed full of delicious cheeses and made our way back to the village below.

After all Leaders and Explorers had made their way back to the chalet, we enjoyed a dinner of Pizza, Potato Wedges and Salad followed by an excellent ice cream with a flake, sprinkles and sauce.

The evening program included tidying bedrooms, loom band manufacture and an evening stroll.

Off to bed now for an early start ready for an adventure filled day tomorrow!
