Switzerland Day 8 – Wood Carvers and Bowling

Written by Graham Oakes

After an early start, we split into two groups and set off on the 2 hour walk to the Trummer family woodcarvers. Along the way both groups walked through the very impressive Choleren Gorge, a 100 meter long gorge with metal walkways featuring numerous waterfalls.

After browsing the woodcarvers shop and purchasing a selection of handcrafted products, some of the explorers and leaders went to the nearby café and sampled some delicious lemon and plum cake (some would argue the best ever). We then all walked back into Adelboden, for a spot of shopping and well deserved free time.

Later on, we headed to the sports centre for a game of bowling (to many of the explorers dismay there were no bumpers!) and a couple of explorers and leaders went bouldering.

As usual a delicious dinner was had and household chores were completed before bedtime.
